Hi there!
I’m Roxana Stingu
Engineering search experiences that connect technology with user needs isn’t just a tagline for me, it’s how I approach every challenge in my work.
I’m Roxana Stingu, Head of Search & SEO at Alamy, where I lead enterprise-level strategies to make content findable, meaningful, and (most importantly) useful. My career spans more than 15 years in SEO, from manually building 50,000 backlinks in the early days to building automated workflows and AI-powered systems that scale search for millions of users today.
What I Do Best
Search with purpose: I believe search isn’t just about rankings — it’s about bridging the gap between technology and people’s actual needs.
Automation & AI: I’m constructively lazy (the best kind of lazy). If there’s a repetitive process, I’ll automate it, leaving more room for strategy and innovation.
Data-driven storytelling: Reports and dashboards are my not-so-secret superpower. Numbers don’t just measure; they persuade, explain, and inspire.
Beyond the Day Job
I’ve had the privilege of sharing my work on stage at BrightonSEO, WTSFest, DMLA, and other conferences, covering everything from page speed to image search. I’m also an industry awards judge, which means I get a front-row seat to the best (and boldest) work happening across search and digital marketing.
Before joining Alamy, I worked with GoDaddy, where I scaled SEO initiatives across massive platforms, learning the beauty (and complexity) of enterprise-level search from the inside.
What Drives Me
Curiosity has always been my north star. I thrive on asking “why?” before jumping to “how?” whether it’s about Google’s latest update, a new AI model, or a quirky dataset. I believe in experimenting, automating the boring stuff, and never treating SEO as “finished.”
A Few Things I’m Proud Of
Lifting a link-scheme penalty by auditing 23 million backlinks manually (yes, really and no, I don’t recommend it).
Designing search workflows that have saved countless hours and headaches through automation.
Encouraging the next wave of SEOs to see Regex as a friend, not a foe.
Final Thoughts
At heart, I’m an engineer of search experiences: blending tech, data, and user intent into something seamless. Whether I’m building scalable SEO systems, judging award entries, or speaking at conferences, my goal is always the same — to connect technology with human needs in a way that feels effortless.
